Had lunch at Proper Pie Co. and oh man, so tasty. I had the Cornish Pasty. Will definitely be going back!
made a hurricane pumpkin! Keeping it festive up in here. Stay safe Richmond!
guess where I’ve been all weekend? More to come.
Tonight at First Friday the Party Liberation Front was kicking off it’s Carnival of Five Fires. So there was much fire dancing, freak shows, and burlesque. It was a good time. Also, there’s going to be a festival of lights for the first friday of November, so I got to make a free lantern to use for then! It’s super cute, and was fun to walk around with. In one of the spots of Gallery five there’s a black light, and I thought the color combo there was nice.
Went to Velocity comics today to use up the rest of my gift card. New Batwoman trade finally out. And then I saw they had Sailor Moon……
Lincoln Trailer of the Day: The full, two-minute trailer for Steven Spielberg’sLincoln. Hopefully the film lives up to the Oscar Bait.

Fucking FINALLY. Also lawl that’s Richmond’s capitol building they used. Jammed up traffic for weeks.
Spent some much needed time outside at Scuffletown park on Strawberry St. today. It’s such a lovely little place, squirreled away behind houses and only accessible via alleyways. Wind chimes in the trees, little fences around the grassy areas (where dogs aren’t allowed, so no poop!)
I got some thumbnailing done for a client’s commission, and then practiced some of my hiragana. Yes, learning Japanese like a good little weaboo. :P I figure it’ll be a good first language (no genders for words oh thank god) and one I hear enough to keep in practice. And then maybe after that, I’ll try and tackle German again. Because while I love it, good god it’s hard to learn.
Went to the science museum for the body worlds exhibit. It was pretty awesome! The lamb made only of its own circulatory system was a personal favorite of mine.
Photos from Belle Isle. The bridge to get there is suspended from the highway bridge that also crosses the James river. It’s pretty neat to look at, and fun to cross.
The James river from both sides of the Belle Isle bridge.
Spent the afternoon in Carytown. Had a frozen chai at the Capitol cafe, watched it rain, and then on the way back to the car, passed Chop Suey and saw their cute kitty in the window sleeping with the books. <3

COVENANT IS COMING TO RICHMOND. COVENANT IS COMING TO RICHMOND. HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT. I ALREADY HAVE MY TICKET I AM SO GOD DAMN EXCITED.
For serious, if you’re in Richmond, fucking go. I’ve seen them once already, and it was a fantastic show. I braved DC just to see these guys. Eskil is a lovely individual. I’m so excited they’re coming to my home town to play. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to go to a show that wasn’t almost 100 miles away!
Fireworks! Early but still. Stood on the median of the road my apartment is next to to get this. Got a few honks in the process. They were shooting from Belle Isle? Over the James river.
